WRITTEN TRANSLATIONS

 

 

A written translation is any translation, made on a sheet of paper or electronically. Written translations could be:

AUTHORIZED TRANSLATION

any translation, copied on a company headed sheet of paper and made by a “sworn” translator, who put his/her signature on it. The document should also bear the company stamp. The company, in its turn, has a signed agreement with the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which allows it to perform such translations.

LEGALIZED TRANSLATION

is called an authorized translation over which is put a certification of “Legalizations and Certifications“ Sector of the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

 

*”Sworn translator” or “authorized translator” is a translator with very good language skills, who has the corresponding education and/or is a holder of the necessary certificates. This translator signed a confidentiality declaration regarding the information he/she became aware of while translating different kinds of documents.


In case of non-observation of this declaration, the translator could be held criminally liable.

 

A translator could be “sworn” at one or more companies, and his/her personal data is registered at “Certification and Legalization” Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Any document to be translated is distributed according to the translator’s qualification, or, while making the translation is held a consultation with a specialized individual.
